Every program at Meridian College aims to turn our students into entry-level professionals. Our hands-on approach to learning lets you become an active part of your education and apply your knowledge in simulated scenarios. Each program is taught by experienced instructors who bring their unique experience to each class.
After graduation, our Career Services team is here to help ease your transition into the workforce. We offer resume support, interview preparation, and even placement assistance to provide you with the tools to succeed in your chosen career path.
We offer eight start dates throughout the year, so you can begin training at a time that works for you!
Our mission is to provide career focused education for the purpose of gaining entry-level employment and advancement opportunities which will empower students to positively contribute to their communities.
Meridian College was founded in 1982 by Ken Stone as Sunstate Academy in Sarasota, Florida. The academy offered training in Cosmetology and Barbering. In July 2003, Sunstate Academy was purchased by Compass Rose Foundation, a Florida non-profit education management company.
In January 2007, the Sarasota campus of Sunstate Academy was purchased by Meridian Education, Inc., a Florida for-profit education management company. During 2007, the academy’s name was changed to Resort & Spa Schools International (RSSI).
In 2008, the campus relocated to a larger facility to accommodate the growth of the student base. In conjunction with this move, the campus began to add programs in the rapidly growing healthcare field. As a result of this expansion in offerings and mission, the campus was renamed to Meridian Career Institute.
In 2010, the main campus in Sarasota was awarded degree-granting status and began to offer Associate of Science degrees in Healthcare and Business. With the approval to award Associate of Science degrees, the main campus in Sarasota was eligible and approved to operate as Meridian College.
In 2012, LTT Enterprises, Inc. purchased Meridian College. Michael Davis was elected president. Mr. Davis has over 35 years’ experience in the private career college field.
LTT Enterprises, Inc. was incorporated in the fall of 1985. LTT Enterprises, Inc. is comprised of six locations:
Programs vary by campus and include training in the medical, business, paralegal, ultrasound, and massage therapy career areas. Other specialty areas include dental assisting, cosmetology, computers, accounting, and personal training. Meridian College is dedicated to preparing students to be competent, caring, and wholesome individuals to serve in teams in a variety of medical and business settings. The campus seeks to provide students with the opportunity to develop their potential to the fullest in a caring and nurturing environment.
