According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Medical Billing and Coding jobs are expected to grow by 8% from 2022 through 2032.* As a Gwinnett College & Institute student, you’ll learn the fundamentals of medical office protocol that will ensure you have the tools to succeed in this growing industry. You will also work closely with electronic health records (EHRs) to organize and manage medical billing information in all areas of healthcare.

Medical Billing and Coding program graduates process, maintain, compile and report patient information to electronic medical records and healthcare insurance claims. They are responsible for meeting HIPAA confidentiality guidelines and keeping personal information secure and private. A medical billing and coding program graduate will use coding parameters set forth by the government including ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding methods.
