The technical school currently known as Gwinnett College was founded in 1994 by Drs. Bruce and Martha Costello, and was originally known as the New Life Institute School of Massage Excellence. Drs. Costello felt that there was a growing demand for a quality massage therapy school in Atlanta that offered more than the traditional massage program. In January 2001, the name was changed to Rising Spirit to better reflect the expanding vision of the founders.
In June 2006, Rising Spirit was purchased by LTT Enterprises and Michael Davis was named President. Later the name was changed to Gwinnett College — Sandy Springs. This career college campus primarily offers vocational programs in the medical field.
