Course Description
Myofascial Assessment & Treatment Approaches: HOPMNRS
This course offers an in depth look at Assessment and Treatment from a myofascial perspective. Therapists will be taken through a very detailed process on how to approach assessing a client, from History/intake, to observation, movement and posture analysis, as well as palpation and neurological assessment, referral pain recognition, and special tests when needed. This approach is designed to increase the therapist’s confidence and expertise when assessing a client, giving them the necessary information to form a highly effective treatment plan.
Self Care – Hydrotherapy, Stretching, & Strengthening for Manual Therapists
This workshop is designed to promote proper biomechanics to prevent injuries, while working as a manual therapist. Discussion and demonstration of the various hydrotherapy techniques learned while in massage school, is an important application of the knowledge required for Self Care and management of the various injuries that may occur during a manual therapy career. Demonstrations on correct table height and postural form/stance while giving treatment sessions is emphasized, in order to give therapists the basis for a long & pain free career. There will be coaching & practice on diaphragmatic breathing, using your core correctly while you work, as well as muscle strengthening exercises and stretches relevant to manual therapists. These principles can also help you coach your patients successfully in pain management, hydrotherapy guidelines, and stretching & strengthening.
