Periodization of Sport Massage:                     Lower Extremities

**THIS CLASS DOES NOT REQUIRE A PREREQUISITE**

The Periodized approach to sports massage aligns massage treatments with an athlete’s or client’s training program. This approach utilizes deep tissue, neuromuscular, and myofascial techniques to optimize recovery and remove the barriers to peak performance. Movement assessment guides the application of massage techniques that are geared towards addressing areas of kinetic chain dysfunction, subconscious pain, and inefficient movement patterns. Techniques are applied with movement both on and off the table. These assessment and massage techniques can be used for improving movement patterns in any and all clients, not just athletes.

Students will learn advanced assessment and treatments for the upper body. This course is a 2-part series leading to a level 1 certification in the Periodization of Sports Massage.

Students who are seeking to receive certification must successfully complete all three Periodization of Sports Massage levels and pass an exam. Courses can be taken in any order, there is no pre-requisite.

Times:  9am – 6pm  Saturday and Sunday 

Supplies:

Sheets to cover massage table (tables provided for class)

Lotion/Cream of choice (whichever you prefer)

Money for vending/snacks (optional)

Room 202; Enter the building through our clinic entrance to the left of the building; turn left at the third hall way (second hallway on the left leads to restrooms and break room area); Room 202 will be the second classroom on the right

PLEASE NOTE: ANY CLASSROOM CHANGES WILL BE POSTED OUTSIDE OF STATED ROOM FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.

Refunds:

Refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee upon request; If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment a full refund will be issued to the card of purchase or you may use the payment as a credit towards a later scheduled class.

No refunds within 2 weeks of class will be issued. If there is a documented emergency, you may transfer your tuition payment to a later class.
